Quantum of Solace
Quantum of Solace
Directed: Marc Forster
Starring: Daniel Craig, Mathieu Amairic, Olga Kurylenko, Judi Dench
Trailer
Synopsis: It picks up roughly where Casino Royale ended where James Bond has Mr. White in custody, trying to find out about the organization that blackmailed the only woman he ever loved. He’s also a tad pissed.
It is truly a sequel to Casino Royale. I didn’t think it would lean so heavily on it, but to fully get this movie, the other one should be seen. It might be a bad thing though because Casino Royale is far superior to this one. This one does have a lot of great action, which if it isn’t excellent, I will get bored and my mind will wander. It did keep my attention in this movie, which is impressive.
The movie itself was a lot grittier than the first one, and had a little bit of fun, but there was a lot more fun in the first one. Also, Daniel Craig wore a lot less clothing in the first one. He wore too many clothes in this one and there was a sex scene wasted when he hit on the agent that was supposed to bring him in when he went AWOL for a while. He did use the best line ever when picking up a woman that only worked because he said it, “Could you help me find some stationary?” I would help him look.
Rating: B+
I know I watch Casino Royale but I really don’t remember anything so maybe I have to watch it again if I want to watch this movie? Not that I wouldn’t help Daniel Craig find stationary, because I would even let him use the multi-color hello kitty pen! or something sexier, whatevs.
It would probably help to watch it again and then you would also get your fill of almost naked and naked Daniel Craig before he’s pretty much fully clothed in this one.
Maybe just watch Casino Royale twice then and pretend the second time it’s a different plot.
Haha, I love Amy’s idea! I still haven’t seen Casino Royale, but still liked this one. I don’t know what I am missing though. All this talk of less clothing is making me want to move Casino Royale to the top of my netflix queue.
