The End of Alice
by A.M. Homes
Highly disturbing book about a relationship between a pedophile in prison and a nineteen-year-old girl who writes him letters talking about a pre-teen boy she is interested in. She knows he is a pedophile so wants to get his perspective on her predicament.
It was written well, so I am guessing that could have led to the glowing reviews it had received and why I read it. The plot just seemed to be shocking for its own sake and didn’t serve any other purpose. As I said, it was very disturbing but had to finish it. I don’t think I would recommend it to anyone though.
