Knight Rider

Knight Rider (2008)

NBC is trying out if people want to watch the show again by having it come back as a movie that can also serve as a pilot for relaunching the show with the kid of Michael Knight working with the creator of KITT’s daughter to find out who is trying to steal the smart, shape-shifting car.

Knight Rider

Channel: NBC

Starring: Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo, Sydney Poitier, Bruce Davison, Val Kilmer

I wasn’t expecting much from it, so I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t a work of art, but it is fluffy fun. The action at times was exciting, even though other times, I was thinking that they couldn’t forever have conversations in a car. Val Kilmer’s voice was okay and funny at times, but I really wish it was still Will Arnett (Gob from Arrested Development). He would have been hilarious, but he had to back out after some sponsorship deal he has with another car company freaked out that the show is one big Ford Mustang advertisement. That was the only annoying thing in the movie was how much it was an ad for the Mustang. They could have done it with more subtlety. What saved it was how it knew it was campy and went with it. It didn’t take itself too seriously, mostly with KITT poking fun at everyone.
