After suffering so many lost lives, Rick and Carl are on their own and on the move, looking for friends and anyone else they might know out there on the road.
I was pretty mad at Rick in the first compendium, it was nice to see him actually want to listen to other people and know that he is going through the grieving process. The phone calls were very sad. It almost seemed like there might be some strong feelings between Rick and Michonne, but then that went nowhere. I was surprised they went back to the farm, but I am glad they are on the move again.
