There were a few new shows that debuted at the beginning of August, but they were mostly shows being burned off and will not be back so might as well not pay attention to them. Here, there is the companion show (don’t call it a spin-off) for The Walking Dead, a 1960s cop show and Bill Hader and Fred Armisen doing their own takes on documentaries.

Premieres: Sunday, August 23 at 9/8c on AMC

Cast: Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason, Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens

Set in Los Angeles at the start of the zombie apocalypse that has affected The Walking Dead.

Premieres: Thursday, August 20 at 7/8c on IFC

Cast: Fred Armisen, Bill Hader

Parodies the documentary format.

Premieres: Tuesday, August 25 at 10/9c on TNT

Cast: Katrina Bowden, Edward Burns, Cormac Cullinane

Follows the New York City police Public Morals Division in the 1960s.
