New Summer TV Dramas: June 2015

USA Network has moved on from its blue skies fluffy programs of Psych and Royal Pains and keeps trying to get into edgier fare. Complications is the latest attempt, but it looks predictable and too earnest to actually be enjoyable. I feel bad for Christian Slater since he keeps trying to make television shows, but none of them are very good. Mr. Robot is the latest one. I will say it looks better than Complications, but only by a little bit. As for the last new show, UnReal actually looks enjoyable to me. I’m surprised since I usually ignore everything on Lifetime and don’t watch any dating competition shows, but maybe because this is showing all the manipulation behind the scenes with Shiri Appleby, who I like a lot, I want to give it a try.
