Synopsis: A lawyer starts to have visions after he is diagnosed with a medical condition. He doesn’t know if his visions are related to his diagnosis or if he has become a prophet.

I wonder why lawyers are the ones that see visions. Ally McBeal had a similar problem except she didn’t think she was a prophet. She also didn’t have a brain aneurysm. Beyond that comparison, the show isn’t filled with “quirky” characters and other annoyances. Jonny Lee Miller is quite charming and believable as both the lawyer who loves all the money in the beginning, but has a change of heart once his life requires adjustment. He starts taking on pro bono and other feel-good cases, and doesn’t want to be the next in line for running the law firm, which is what his fiance’s father (and his boss) had plans for him. He had those same plans, until very recently.

The musical numbers are funny and fit in well in the show. I shouldn’t say musical numbers, since they aren’t always musical. Sometimes they are just hallucinations, but they are still amusing and go with the flow of the show.

My only issue with the show is Eli’s finance played by Natasha Henstridge. They have no chemistry and her character is not likeable. She wanted to break up with him once she found out he could die at any moment. Couldn’t anyone die at any moment? He just has a higher probability now. Mostly, it is the no chemistry thing that bothers me. If they had any, I could possibly overlook her character’s flaws, but it just doesn’t work. He had more chemistry with every other female client or character he comes in contact with, so I think I’ll just blame her for that mess.
