Fall TV Preview – Thursday

What I’ll Be Watching

I was disappointed with what I saw during the trailers of Big Shots, so I won’t be checking that out. That means that I’ll be watching what I watched last year. The only difference is that L&O: Criminal Intent moved to USA. It conflicts with other things I watch at 10pm, but it reruns so I can catch a later showing. I’ll be watching My Name is Earl, 30 Rock, and Smallville during the first hour. The second one will be CSI, Supernatural, The Office and Scrubs. I usually catch CSI in reruns since they are the easiest to find. The last hour is ER and Without a Trace.

What new shows look good to you? What returning shows will you continue watching? Any shows you giving up on?

New Shows

Drama

Big Shots
Channel: ABC
Time: 10/9c
Premieres: September 27
Cast: Dylan McDermott, Michael Vartan, Josh Malina, Christopher Titus, Nia Long, Paige Turco
Trailer

Synopsis: Four rich guys try to be the male version of Sex and the City with their women troubles including one accidentally getting together with a transvestite, another losing a job and wife in the same day, a third finding out a mistress his best friends with his wife, and the fourth is just whipped by his wife.

Buzz: The cast is awesome, but it is all wasted on situations played for wackiness when they aren’t really. The situations are also not as funny as the show would like to think it is.

My Take: I wanted to see this based on the cast, mostly Michael Vartan, even though I am also a fan of Dylan McDermott and Josh Malina, but after watching a couple of trailers, it left a bad taste in my mouth. They kept making jokes that men were the new women, but were essentially saying they were whiny bastards. How does that make me like these men?
