Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Jim Carrey finds out that his girlfriend has had their relationship erased from her memories, he decides to do the same. Of course, it doesn’t work out quite like he expected.
I wanted to see this movie because Being John Malkovich and Adaptation that were written by Charlie Kaufman were so messed up.
This movie is extremely messed up! I was laughing at it throughout, not so much because it was funny but so extremely wacky. Not only do you see Joel’s (Jim Carrey) relationship with Clementine (Kate Winslet) while it is being erase, you get to see the actual memories being erased. He changes his mind while it is happening and things start getting even weirder. The people erasing the memories were also quite bizarre.
It is a really sweet movie that is also about dealing with the sadness of a breakup. I loved it.
Rating: A
I liked this movie, but don’t remember much about it. I also remember Amy sitting down to watch part of it and being enamored, which almost never happens since she doesn’t really like many movies.
I thought this movie was very interesting but also a little sad. I was able to pretty much understand what was going on, which is not usual for me with the complex movies, so I say well done movie peeps!
